A 5 day trip to Florence for the Books
May 2024 was an absolute blur of a month. Two international weddings, closed on a house, a Chicago wedding, and zero time to catch my breath. It is a joy to look back on it now and think “wow, I did THAT.” I can now officially add Florence Wedding Photographer onto my destination wedding resume hehe.
Jessica and Mark’s wedding was an intimate weekend with 8 guests. They rented out Villa Belvedere in the charming town of Loro Ciuffena, in the Toscana region of Italy. Loro Ciuffena is a short drive from Florence, and makes for an excellent day trip if you are looking for a vineyard day on your next trip to Florence. I stayed in the most quaint, wonderful hotel in Bel Poggio that made me feel like I was living in a movie. Eat Pray Love, Under the Tuscan Sun vibes. 10 bedrooms, everyone had a key to the front door of the hotel, incredible breakfast, and tranquility. I will be bringing my husband back there very soon.
The Weekend Details
The weekend started with a beautiful dinner at one of the Villa’s vineyards near by. Fresh pizza, pasta, wine, and tiramisu. One cannot ask for anything more in this life. (At least, that’s my life motto.) Intimate weddings often allow me to get to know my couple and their guests on a deeper level. I get to chat with them over dinner, be more in tune to conversations happening around me, and don’t have to worry about having 200 guests to photographer. It is a nice change of pace every once in a while.
Being able to start the weekend off at a vineyard was such a treat. I love wine. I am not a “drink at home” kinda gal, but I love wine tasting and learning how to understand flavor profiles. In the 6 years Connor and I have been together, we’ve yet to do a wine tasting together, so here’s to hoping we can add that onto our honeymoon agenda. Anyways, scroll to see some of my favorite details from the rehearsal din.
Fun Arielle fact: my favorite food group is tiramisu.
Wedding Day Details
My friend Jennifer of Amorella Events is the bride’s sister, so every detail of this day was planned wonderfully alongside the team at Romingnano Estate. If you are searching for a wedding venue in Florence, highly recommend getting in touch with this wonderful estate. (And if you’re searching for a Florence wedding photographer, lmk ;).) The day was intimate, thoughtful, and intentional. Everything I adore about a small wedding day. And don’t even get me started on the delicious meal. It was an absolute treat to be apart of this celebration and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work in the country I call my second home.
6 trips to Italy in the last 7 years. Hoping for many, many more. Scroll to see my favorite photos from Jessica and Mark’s day.
Unfortunately, before we could light the candles it started to rain, so we relocated to plan B. Still gorgeous, though!
