I don’t know what’s in the water this year, but every. damn. maternity session I have shot in the studio this year has been incredible. But now that I type “I don’t know” why… I do know why. Every single one of these mommas came to me with their vision for photos prior to the session and that is a huge key to making the most out of your photo shoot. If you don’t exactly what you want, that’s okay! But browse the web, think about your favorite movies, places, and art, and source your inspiration by the things around you that bring joy. Alix emailed me a few screenshots from Pinterest, as well as a few photos of mine that she’s seen via the blogs I shared above, so it was easy for me to take her inspo and run with it when it came time to shoot. She didn’t do an outfit consultation beforehand, but when she pulled that white tulle mini dress out of her bag I immediately knew this session was going to be fun.
