It’s been a minute since I have photographed an elopement, and it’s been even longer since I have photographed the Loop on a Saturday morning. IYKYK, but there’s something about an empty Loop and morning light that makes my heart sing. The cold weather, especially after ten days in the Philippines, humbled me a bit, but then Susan took off her jacket to show off her cute satin slip dress and I was suddenly grateful for my layers. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to join them inside of City Hall for photos (I showed up and there were over a dozen couples outside of the doors waiting to get in, so City Hall wouldn’t allow guests – the website said otherwise so I would call ahead to confirm before you go), so I snapped a photo of Susan and Eddy with Eddy’s parents after it was official, then walked around the financial district with the newlyweds to take some portraits.
